Oil Mill Room of San José and Archaeology Room
On October 27, 1930, the Agricultural Union of San José was born in Montanejos, which had 90 members and a capital of 5000 pesetas. One of the main activities of the Union was the production of oil, with the installation of the San José Oil Mill.
The space allows us to approach the process of olive cultivation, harvesting, milling, pressing, decanting and storage.
The Olive Oil Mill gathers the memory of the women and men who worked in the cultivation of the olive and the production of the oil, their daily work, the work process, how they celebrated the day of San José al Patrón of the cooperative; and the evolution of that crop that saw its last boom in the 1970s.
